THE WEST COAST ROUTE TO THE NORTH: From Euston To Rugby carries a wide variety of electric & diesel hauled traffic, despite completion of the electricfication scheme over 25 years ago (in 1991) a number of diesel classes remain in service including Classes 31, 37 47 & 56. Additionally Class 90s have joined the First Generation Electrics in service.

DIESELS OVER THE SETTLE & CARLISLE: The settle & Carlisle in the 1970s when the route was still a major freight link from Carlisle to the North West. Class 40s, 25s, 45s & 47s are shown in action.

NORTH & WEST FROM HULL: A study of the lines from Hull to Selby and Hull to Scarborough with coverage from a number of locations including Gilberdyke, Broomfleet, Burton Agnes, Bridlington, Hunmanby & Filey.

FEBRUARY FREEZE-UP: Coverage from around the network during the harshest winter weather for 4 years including The Midland Main Line, The East Coast Main Line, The Midlands & The North West. Freight & passenger traffic is shown in action during a period of severe network disruption.

NEWS & EVENTS: Line changes. Keighley electrification, Shipley re-signalling. Classes 37, 47 & 60

LAST TRAIN TO DUFFTOWN: The Dufftown line was one of the survivors of the extensive system of branches serving the North East of Scotland. Sadly this scenic line was to close on 1st April 1991 and this feature follows the final train along the line just before closure.

CLASS 50s ON SPECIAL TRAINS PLUS D400: Detailed coverage of the last Departmental Class 50s in action during early 1991. 50 008 & 50 015 are shown on the main line & the Fowey & Drinnick Mill branches. 50 015 is featured on a Hereford bound special, while D400 is shown on the Exeter to Waterloo line.

THE PAST IN THE PRESENT: A search for aspects of the network which have changed very little over the last 10-15 years & comprising: Signalling & services at Liskeard. Worcester’s signalling & DMU’s on the Southern Region, 47s in blue livery, Wellington Station, Metheringham Station near Sleaford, 31 at Reedham.

MOTIVE POWER NEWS: Class 20s on tour and in the Midlands, ‘Tamworth Castle’s’ last run, Class 31 Special to Whitby, Class 33s at Chatham & on Exeter line. Last 37 along the Cambrian Coast. Diverted 47s on WCML, 47 to Skegness, Last of the 81s, Class 91s on test plus EMUs & 158s.

SPECIAL EVENTS: Hereford Rail Day with class 20s, 33s & 37s. West Somerset Diesel Day, North York Moors Diesel Day, Stratford Depot.
