East Anglia was once the home of a system of rural railways.
In this programme we take a selected look at the number of branches in the 1960s. The lines across Essex via Braintree and Sudbury, and to Maldon are explored. The route across the Fens via Wisbech to March is featured in detail. Finally we look at passenger and freight traffic on the Dereham and Sheringham branches.
