The programme comprises:

A History of the Route
- from LSWR days to Nationalisation.
Waterloo to Clapham Juntion - Steam at London's last terminus and Nine Elms, plus Clapham Junction in the 1960s.
Clapham Junction to Basingstoke - Bulleid Pacifics at speed on this distinctive main line with its pneumatically operated semaphores. 'King Arthurs', and '700' Class 0-6-0s are also featured in the early 1960s.
Basingstoke to Southampton - From quadruple to double track with more Bulleids at high speed for the run through Eastleigh. Includes Southampton Docks and the 'Bournemouth Belle'.
To the Dorset Coast - M7s at Brockenhurst, the 'Castlemans Corkscrew', Bounemouth Central and Shed, Wareham, Dorchester and the 1 in 50 grade of Upwey Bank, plus Weymouth.

featuring passenger and freight with M7 30053, 34072 '275 Squadron' plus archive views.
The Mid Hants Railway - with steam 'Crossing the Alps' in the preservation era.
