The programme comprises:

The Design and Development of the 'Kings' with film at Swindon in the 1920s and 30s.

The Building of the 'Kings' with a look at various members of the class from 6000 'King George V' to 6029 'King Edward VIII'.

The 'Kings' in service - the class in action in the 1950s over the South Devon Banks, on the Paddington to Birmingham Snow Hill Line.

The Last Days - a journey behind a 'King' from Paddington to Banbury in 1962 together with film from their very last day in regular service.

A Final Railtour - 6018 'King Henry VI' on tour from Birmingham to Swindon Works in 1963.

Preservation - 6000 'King George V' in the 1970s, and 6024 'King Edward I'.

Featuring all of the 'Kings' with film from their introduction through to the Preservation era.
