The drama of the high Alps - from the train and from the air. In this 60 minute programme we travel the mountain railways of Switzerland behing both steam and electric traction. On the way we explore the remarkable and awe inspiring landscape that forms the 'Roof of Europe'
The programme includes steam on the line to Zermatt, a journey to Gornergrat in the shadow of the Matterhorn, steam at Gletch, the line from Lauterbrunnen to Jungfraujoch at 11,000 feet, the line to the summit at Mount Rigi including steam traction and the line to Murren.
